[ It sure is a society where being nice to Ryuki just means not bullying him. Anyway he thinks it's weird that Tama asked him who's the best character to use for Street Fighters but sure, why not. I haven't played Street Fighters since the days of FamiCom though so I don't know the meta, pretend he picked a character he thinks Tama would like. ]
The Halloween party that Nico wanted to put together?
[ For this thread he's got two little dragon horns sticking out of his head, golden-orange. Sexy Daniel style but like smaller. I always cite Sexy Daniel for this but Zhongli is right there. ]
[ bullying is an ultimate sign of affection. she will bully him always because it probably appeals to some kink he has (does it? does it though?) except for today. where she’s trying to let him have a day of vibes and joy. ]
That’s the one. He’s been fixated on Halloween for god knows how long — and I don’t think it was just because he wanted in to the store, like he claimed.
From other countries I think, yeah. We don't really do a lot of those anymore...
[ The Halcyon days of the Grudge and the Ring. ]
Yeah because if you don't press them fast, someone else is going to beat you to it, and once you're in the air then it gets really hard to counterattack. Depending on how your opponent does it, even the smallest gap really can get you an instant K.O. It really sucks to just get punched to death like that. The combos can get pretty long and complicated but the payoff is good.
Wonder what changed. Did people just go off horror…?
[ thinks about all the remakes of rpgmaker horror games that are now coming out like REMAKE? THESE ARE NEW? ]
…
[ oh this is huge nerd hours but she is Trying. ] So it’s not only knowing what you’re doing, it’s— muscle memory and reaction speed based as well? That doesn’t sound especially newcomer friendly…
[ Maybe I have just picky standards for horror. HOLDS THE FIRST HALF OF PARANORMASIGHT CLOSE TO ME. Square do more horror IPs you have potential. ]
Yeah, I guess so. But isn't every video game kind of like that? The people who've played it a long time know everything they have to do, but newcomers have to learn.
But in the worst case scenario, like you said, you can always just button mash.
[ listen, square should do this i would play it even though i am the horror weenie and was like AAAAAA AM I FREE YET by the end of the first half of paranormasight. we love a jumpscare and eerie lore based horrors though. oooooOOOooooOOooOooooo… ]
Some games aren’t competitive though— although I have heard people say M*rio P*rty ruins friendships and families, so maybe it is a universal thing.
[ well.
ok she will take the other set of controls and she will Button Mash ]
w6, tuesday
which means not making fun of him when he’s being a tiny nerd, apparently. ]
We should probably do something about costumes as well, there’s that thing at the Phoenix dorm tonight as well.
[ oh right she also has flowers for some reason? don’t worry about it. ]

[ He's Japanese he doesn't know how far people go to get their spooky fix. Halloween is some decorations in stores, as far as he knows, but it's cute.
Uppercut smashes someone on this game. Cool, he hasn't fully forgotten how to Street Fighter. ]
