I guess? I know the temperature hot is, but I don’t actually know how that feels. I don’t want to keep my hands on it for long though.

The body automatically makes us jerk away from anything that's harmful. That's what pain is.

So if it feels like it hurts, then it's because it's something you shouldn't touch.

Both hot and cold things can feel that way, but they're a bit different.

It's just-- knowing it and actually feeling it are different. I can read up anything on the physical descriptiors and natural reactions to pain, but it can't really account for experiencing it myself.

The concept of actual real life experience, versus just studying about it in books and never experiencing it for yourself?

Yeah, I agree. Even before coming here, there were so many things I could “experience” that would never be quite the same way you were experiencing them, purely because you’re human.
