[ literally neither can i, just two girlies out trying to have a nice morning and this shit truly just bonks them over the head. takes a minute to process this memory before i put you in jojo's hell.
she blinks as she witnesses it, the birth of who stands before herβtama. it feels like a strangely intimate thing to witness, someone coming into one's own, and she watches the panels unfold with a reverence that goes slack-jawed as she sees ryuki through tama's eyes for the first time. in files, in research, learning who he is inside and out.

I'll take that as a compliment. It'd be boring if I wasn't--
[ ah. well.
apparently this goes both ways, this weird peaking into your memories thing. kind of like jolyne watching her come into the world in her own way, she sees jolyne grow and grow bitter and grow into bad places, and then turn her life around again -- and it's so much harder to put yourself back on the straight and narrow once you've strayed, she know that.

she wants to say something about the man with jolyne-- but she's never mentioned a romeo, so she's not entirely sure if this is a landmine she's stepping on or not, but-- ]
... Did your boyfriend really think he could get away with a hit and run?
[ well. it's a landmine, but it's already been detonated. jolyne's anger for him has fizzled out in the sort of way a wet bomb does. ]
... Yeah. And he did for the most part.

I was the scapegoat. I took his sentence. Was never my intention to do so, but all of it was... a set up. The accident, the guy Romeo hit, the lawyer that even helped me with my case.
[ hewwo? she just... pulls down the shoulder of her floppy sweatshirt and shows her what looks like a star-shaped birthmark just before her tattooed wings begin to climb down her back. ]
My father said it's got something to do with our bloodline, that some dickhead wants us all dead. So he orchestrated a way to trap me in prison... bait for my father who came to visit me. An easy way to kill us both and stop that bloodline in its tracks.
So this guy... Johngalli A... he hired the mooks that kidnapped some guy and threw him in front of our car, already half dead. He paid the lawyer who told Romeo that he'd get us off clean, then tricked me into a plea bargain that turned into a 15 year sentence. Romeo was able to escape by pinning it all on me in the end... saying it was my idea to dump his body in the bog, to not tell anyone...
[ and it sounds like she takes her part in this with gravity, that she understands. ]
When I escaped... I basically showed up at his doorstep demanding some money and a car... [ she frowns ] I took a grand... his fancy helicoptor... and that man probably won't ever get to use his tongue again. It's probably ruined for life.

And that coward!!! Surely there were finger prints that he was the one who drove the car into that guy-- half dead or not!

He kept swearing up and down that he was trying to visit me... and I somehow doubt that. Only visitor I ever had was my father when I was in prison.
