Couldn't they like, just say anyone is a villain if they want to get rid of them? How many people have they executed were actually bad?

Probably. Or, they could have ways of making people act? Blackmail possibly?

Even if we try to warn the people who actually live here about it, who are they going to believe? Their own government or us weirdos who just showed up randomly.

But… this isn’t the first time these executions have happened. For similar reasons — a hero did something “wrong”, and were made an example of. It sounded like the general public just accepts this is how things happen.

An information diet can do that. They didn’t know what happened in the trial, so the details were missing.

Yeah, but, who would they believe? We're just a bunch of random strangers who popped up and allegedly can turn into villains.

Oh, for sure. But if doubts are going to sink in, then nothing's going to stop it. That's the joy of the whole thing.

It's just how people work. If they hear it from enough of us, that's when the uncertainty sinks in.

One ticked off hero? Sure, whatever. They're just unreasonable, or bitter. Ten ticked off heroes...? 20? 30? Harder to ignore.

I guess it also depends on if they aren't doing anything funny to the civilians, too...
